Social timeout: unload social and video tabs after 20 minutes
Social and video sites are unloaded after 20 minutes away; everything else follows the default cleanup.
The steps: Unused for 20 minutes → on social or video sites, Sleep → then, unused for 3 hours → Move to Bin → In Bin for 5 days → Close.
Who it's for
- People who leave social feeds and videos open.
- Anyone trying to keep distractions out of view.
What happens
- X, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube tabs are put to sleep 20 minutes after you leave them: unloaded, where they are.
- Every tab, those included, moves into Bin after 3 hours unused, and closes after 5 days there.
Always
- The tab you are on is never moved or closed.
- Pinned tabs and sites you protect are never touched.
- Tabs in groups you made yourself and tabs playing sound stay where they are.
Good to know
- The list of sites is yours to change in the editor.
How to use it
- Download Social timeout: a small workflow file.
- Open Few's editor (click Few in Chrome's toolbar, then Rules), choose Import and pick the file.
- Save. The steps replace your current workflow; your protected sites and grouping stay as they are. Every step can be changed afterwards.
